Do you ever wonder why you focus on the “bad stuff” so much?

That sometimes no matter how positive you try to be you find yourself bombarded with scary worrisome thoughts. And it all seems so valid and logical to keep hyperfocusing on the terrible things. It’s because, as a survival mechanism we are wired to focus on negative stimuli. 

As a kid I would daydream about any and all scenarios that I might find myself in, especially scary situations.

It was an attempt to keep myself safe.

I thought if I could figure out every possible thing that could happen in life and how I would respond, then maybe I could finally relax.

I was very aware of energy, others moods, and could see spirits from a very young age. All of the things that I see as beautiful skills and gifts now, were very overwhelming then. 

Also, if you are stressed out the tendency to have negative thoughts increases as higher cortisol levels contribute to scary and intrusive thoughts.

It’s ok to change your mind

A few days ago I was thinking about different times in my life when It seemed like I didn't get what I wanted.

Like the ex boyfriend I thought was amazing and would be the greatest guy for me. Only to realize that there was a way better relationship on the verge of appearing.

Or, getting all gung ho about becoming a personal fitness trainer. Then deciding I love to workout and stay healthy more than I enjoy training others. 

There’s nothing wrong with any of the things I mentioned.

They worked at the time and helped me to dream bigger and be more honest about how I prefer to create my life.

But, I did feel disappointed at first. And I’m sure you’ve felt the same way many times in your own life.

You may have put in a lot of time and energy to achieve a certain goal and then it didn’t happen. But, what if you just changed your mind and it is ok to change your mind!

Don’t Worry About It

Did you know that it's not your job to figure out how you will get something?

Contrary to what many of us were taught; you don’t have to rack your brain trying to figure out every detail of how and when your desire will show up. 

The fastest way to get the things you want is to find ways to feel good now.

I know, how the heck are you supposed to feel good when you’re so stressed out?! 

Well, the key to that is getting your mind on something besides the “problem” you keep focusing on.

Your thoughts and feelings come from the state you are in.

Which is why the old saying goes

You may have to force yourself to stop ruminating on the unwanted. And force yourself to get busy cooking, cleaning, do a puzzle, dance or go for a walk. Anything really to get refocused on things that have nothing to do with what’s stressing you out.

Dissociation - Hijacking the Mind

Do you find yourself spacing out, in a fog or missing chunks of time?

If so, you may be experiencing dissociation.

Which is a normal thing for our minds to do, as we don’t need to be super focused all day and night.

However, finding yourself chronically numbing out and unable to focus may be indicative of deeper things going on.

Everyone goes through trauma, and everyone copes with it differently.

Our mind and body are so wise that they will cope in the best ways for us in any given moment.

These survival mechanisms are always there to keep us safe.

But, if left unresolved can cause a lot of difficulties functioning and thriving in daily life

Shocking, painful or distressing events can set off dissociation, amongst many other symptoms.

But, long after the event you may still not feel safe even to address the experience. So what can you do?

There are many paths to healing, but you will need to find ways to get your nervous system balanced.

The Good from Ancestors

What if you could receive memories from your ancestors?

Well, science is just now beginning to prove what I have known and witnessed for years.

That we do carry cellular memories from our ancestors. 

Much of my work over the years has involved healing or releasing traumatic and unwanted information.

But, have you ever wondered what beautiful memories and abilities your ancestors were blessed with? And if those are passed down to you too?

There’s so much focus on the “bad things” that need to be healed, which is very helpful.

But, wouldn’t it make sense that we would receive the good from our lineage too?

Absolutely!

Some things you may have already witnessed in your family. Perhaps you are all great cooks, musicians, or very athletic.

Some of these things could easily be attributed to watching a family member and learning those skills, but very often we have inherent gifts that are naturally there without being directly taught.

Beliefs & Fears

Are you experiencing fear of change?

Avoiding change for fear of betraying family and sometimes friends is one of the most common patterns I’ve seen over the years.

Yes, you consciously want to change and continue to do many things to create change.

But, there’s an unconscious feeling of guilt that will thwart your efforts and choices, until it is resolved.

As children we needed approval in order to survive.

But, you are still carrying old beliefs and fears that were taught to you, and they are controlling your life in big and small ways.

The good news is, a belief can be changed.

You must first be willing to admit you have certain fears and beliefs.

Then you can question them and finally set yourself free from them…if you choose.

Thankfully, these fears leave lots of clues that are pretty easy to spot.

Bitch n Dump

I may have shared this story with you before, but it's so good I’m inspired to mention it again.

Years ago I was on my first cruise and I’ll never forget something I heard.

As I eagerly listened to the first message from the captain I was perplexed by something he said.

He went on and on about how excited he was to have everyone here and that they would go above and beyond to make us all happy during our trip.

To the point that they had specifically set up things around the ship for people to complain about.

Huh?!

Complaining about things, how is that good?

He went on to explain that they had learned that complaining made many people happy. So, they set up things for people to complain about.

This particular massage was loaded with life changing awareness.

It caused me to look at different versions of happiness and each person's compulsions around how they attempt to get their needs met.

I’ll Be Happy When...

Do you ever think you’ll feel happy when you get what you want?

Like you’re waiting for someone or something to make you feel better?

Indulging in stories about your true love swooping in and then you’ll finally be happy.

Or, if this business deal goes through then you can finally relax and life will be smooth sailing.

That sounds amazing!

But, it ain’t gonna happen like that.

I DO mean to burst your bubble here.

Take an honest look at your past and notice that every time you got what you wanted; you still wanted more.

Of course, you were excited about the relationship, vacation, or new car but eventually the excitement faded.

You are here to expand and create.

So it is very natural that you will always desire more and seek new experiences.

That’s all great, but if you make your happiness contingent on something outside of yourself you will likely feel pretty miserable as you hope and wait for “ The Thing” to arrive.

Energy of Trauma

Have you ever gone through something that changes how you see yourself and the world?

It could change your outlook in a good way, but what about those times you question everything you thought was true?

You used to feel inspired, hopeful, and optimistic.

Then one day, sometimes in an instant, you wonder what’s the point of it all? And think that it's all a crock of sh*t!

It is often called an Existential Crisis, but I want to address the way I see it energetically.

What’s really going on during these times of seeming disconnection?

I’ve noticed that disappointment is one of the most common precursors to this limbo state.

It could be you’ve experienced repeated little disappointments over time, or a sudden big and shocking let down that instantly leaves you in disbelief.

When I look at someone experiencing the symptoms I described above, there’s almost always a shade of bluish gray energy that seems to not be moving. This is depicting frozen moments in time.
