A few days ago I was thinking about different times in my life when It seemed like I didn't get what I wanted.
Like the ex boyfriend I thought was amazing and would be the greatest guy for me. Only to realize that there was a way better relationship on the verge of appearing.
Or, getting all gung ho about becoming a personal fitness trainer. Then deciding I love to workout and stay healthy more than I enjoy training others.
There’s nothing wrong with any of the things I mentioned.
They worked at the time and helped me to dream bigger and be more honest about how I prefer to create my life.
But, I did feel disappointed at first. And I’m sure you’ve felt the same way many times in your own life.
You may have put in a lot of time and energy to achieve a certain goal and then it didn’t happen. But, what if you just changed your mind and it is ok to change your mind!
What if instead of believing you tried so hard and then you didn’t get what you wanted you actually decided you wanted something else?
That’s what I believe really happens.
It can be a subtle shift, but I know there is a higher aspect of ourselves that is always guiding us to our highest expression.
Whether we listen or not is a different story. Yes, many people can get wrapped up in self sabotage patterns but if you are really in tune with your heart's desires, you will be guided to things that have a certain ease and flow about them.
Timing is a big thing too.
Sometimes it's just a big no and you’ve changed your mind.
Other times it could be the timing is off.
Think about it, you’ve got to be the version of you who can receive and maintain what you’re asking for.
You may very well want to do squats with 350 lbs but you likely aren’t ready for that. So, you take practical steps to support your desire to squat that much weight.
If you don’t you will not be able to handle that much weight and will possibly injure yourself and your self esteem.
Similar thing with relationships. You want someone who is kind, loving, patient , stable etc. But you aren’t even able to consistently be those things for yourself.
Perhaps you’re used to a certain type of love partner who might be great at first but eventually things go bad. They let you down, hurt you, whatever your dominant story is about love.
Do you see where you must practice being attracted to and receiving from a different type of person?
Otherwise you’re just creating from the exact same mindset that you always were.
I remember when I chose something different and it turned out WAY better than I could have ever imagined! And I’m excited to keep choosing beyond any fears or limits.
As you go to bed each night this week imagine that you are this new version of yourself who already has your ideal life.
Take that to bed with you and see how much brighter you feel in the morning. Enjoy!
