How Do You View Your Family?

Ahh family, sometimes you love them, and sometimes you pretend you were adopted by a lovely alien race and are waiting for them to come pick you up and take you out of this solar system LOL!

Seriously though, family can bring lots of beautiful moments and lots of confusion.

Even if you have a mostly great relationship with your family, there can still be many challenges and belief systems that are passed down through bloodlines, physically and energetically. 

One of the most common patterns I see is that of guilt.

Where certain family beliefs have been pushed upon others as a way to control their choices.

Much of this I believe is meant out of love, but is very fear based and controlling.

It feels yucky to have those you love telling you that they basically don’t trust you to navigate your own life and that they know better. 

So now let's check in and see what you think about your family.

Be honest, what do you say and think about them?

Do you notice if you have issues with them it tends to match up to what you persistently expect from them?

Good or bad, you think mom is always like this, dad is like that, oh that’s uncle Jim he's so… Like I said, this is not necessarily bad thoughts, but if you are irritated with your family I encourage you to check your inner conversations about them.

I’d love for you to have a fantastic relationship with your family, whatever that may be for you.

And especially when the holidays are almost here and you will likely be seeing more of them and might become triggered.

See everything is good, until it's not. Your “triggers’ so to speak, are showing you where you still have content and judgments that are wanting to be released. 

Here’s a powerful exercise to gain clarity:

• What I currently think/feel about my family:
• What I want to think/and feel about my family:

If they match up and you don’t want to change anything, great!

But what if you acknowledge those things you truly don’t like so you can be free of them?

And if there’s absolutely nothing you’d like to change, you feel loved, seen, heard, and appreciated, wonderful!

Then take a moment to feel gratitude :-)
