The Power of Doing Nothing

Jul 05, 2022

I’m sure you are aware of cycles, look to nature, and you will see a natural rhythm to things each and every day. But you may not be aware that those cycles and rhythms apply to all areas of your life. We aren’t meant to be going at full speed nonstop.

Trying to do everything on your own and helping others with their stuff too. Attempting to do too much for too long can have a very negative impact on your health, relationships, and your outlook on life.

It can take courage to stop and rest. Especially with how much importance the world puts on staying busy. We are taught to keep moving no matter what or risk being seen as lazy.

But what if stopping to do nothing is one of the best things you could do for yourself.

In times of high stress, it can seem counterintuitive to stop and relax. So many spinning anxious thoughts. Feeling you need to do something. Thinking you must keep moving or things will fall apart. It's often at those times we need to stop and do...

Keep Going

Jun 28, 2022

As we begin creating our lives more by choice, rather than by default, we may notice certain reactions from others that are uncomfortable to us.

Not everyone is going to be happy or approve of what we choose all the time, or perhaps any of the time.

We have to keep choosing for ourselves anyway.

Firstly it doesn’t matter what you do or say; you will NEVER please everyone.

So spare yourself the agony and running in endless circles of even attempting it.

Sometimes people that you thought were supportive and happy for you will suddenly make an offhanded comment that leaves you wondering what the heck happened?!

You may notice others tense up when you talk about goals or when you share any fun or exciting things in your life. It is their stuff being triggered and by you choosing to grow and expand it is inviting them to do the same.

Some people can find that invitation downright terrifying; Keep going anyway!

People can, and probably will, lie to or about you. Criticize, how...

Stay on Target

Jun 21, 2022

When you start the journey to having more awareness, self-love and acceptance it can be very exciting and freeing.

You start noticing you're feeling happier and lighter, and when you do have an off day they’re nowhere near as frequent or intense as before.

That is until you're stuck in a room full of your relatives or in-laws LOL!

We often think once we move away from family or even have our own, many things that used to bother us just simply go away.

We have our lives pretty much together; we have careers, academic accomplishments, our children, why the heck should it matter what our Uncle "Bart" thinks of us?

Well, it technically doesn't, but that doesn't stop Bart or other family members' opinions or comments from triggering the crap out of us!

So, what to do?

Well, first remember that it is entirely normal for things that people say to bother us from time to time, second take a breath and do your best to let it go and not feed into any annoying comments or actions....

How to Feel Happier Right NOW!

Jun 14, 2022

The #1 way to feel SO much happier right this moment is…

STOP comparing yourself to others!

We’ve all heard the saying keeping up with the Joneses, btw that was around long before the Kardashians LOL!

Looking around at your neighbors, schoolmates, colleagues, etc. to see what’s the “in” thing, has been around for ages.

Most of us are taught to compare, compete and strive to beat or be better than others somehow. Which truly only leaves us exhausted and looking at everyone as an enemy to our happiness.

The focus and comparison to others and what they have has caused much more grief than most people are consciously aware.

It can trigger deep feelings of inadequacy, anger, blame, all kinds of fear based emotions.

In essence, when we compare ourselves to others we are saying, there’s not enough for me, there’s a finite supply of love, health, money, happiness and I have to fight others to have a little sliver of that supply.

When...

But, I can't do it!

Jun 07, 2022

I hear it all the time. I can’t do this or I just can’t do that.

Heck I've even said it to myself more times than I care to count.

We tell ourselves that certain things don’t matter, we will get to it tomorrow, but it often never gets completed.

A common theme under all of this is perfectionism, which is actually a pretty interesting sabotage pattern. There is no perfection, in comparison to what or whom?

So what a great way for you to at least be right and succeed at failing! You can say, see I told you I couldn’t do it and here’s the proof!

One thing I’ve noticed with individuals who choose to perpetually make excuses is that they seem to be quite annoyed or shocked when other people are actually doing things.

Years ago a friend of mine would constantly have an ongoing list of things she was going to do, but when it came time to take any sort of action she had a never-ending catalog of excuses as to why she couldn’t do it.

She was...

Nothing Else Matters

May 31, 2022

What matters more than anything else?

That’s right, your health!

Yes, making sure you are healthy is absolutely by far the most important thing.

If you're not feeling well, you cannot function properly, and that affects every single area of your life.

What I find interesting is that so many people will run themselves ragged, skipping meals, not moving their bodies, not sleeping enough and then they are baffled as to why things aren't going very smoothly in their lives.

When you honor yourself and your body by taking the time to eat balanced meals, get enough uninterrupted sleep and maybe even go for a walk, you will be astounded at how much easier everything in your life becomes.

Think about it, you can't enjoy your loved ones if you're in pain, or grouchy from sleep deprivation.

I say this a lot, but you really must put yourself first.

If any of you are still feeling guilty about self-care, look at it this way, if you don't take good care of yourself, you could be...

Allow Yourself to Play

May 24, 2022

A few years ago a friend took me to a class, and I painted my first picture ever!

It was an incredible experience.

I was beaming and excited about the painting and the entire experience for days!

At first, I felt uptight and intimidated; I’d never done this before.

Many beautiful paintings were hanging everywhere, and I had no idea how I was going to make anything look half as good as those!

I realized so much about myself and life that day. Everyone was extremely friendly and calm, just having fun.

I allowed myself just to play and go along with whatever happened.

If I added too much of a color, I would simply adjust it by adding more water, less water, a different color whatever I felt guided to do.

I could feel the tension and judgment melting out of my body each time I would add more paint to the canvas.

I began to feel myself getting excited as a little child to the point I just kept a big grin on my face as I splashed paint around thinking of the endless...

Asking for Help

May 17, 2022

This week I want to talk about something that has been on my mind for a very long time, years. The idea of asking for help and all the “stuff” that brings up for people.

I’ve noticed many experiencing resistance, judgment, and guilt around asking for help.

Most of my life I felt tons of judgment towards myself for asking for any help. So I understand why people avoid asking others for help and how it could be viewed as a bad or disempowering thing.

But what if it's not a bad thing?

If you’re going through something and you require more info, ideas, a different perspective on things, just ask. If you were to speak up and ask, maybe things would flow so much easier.

Why stress yourself out spinning in circles trying to resolve something, when you could perhaps ask and have the situation shift, sometimes in an instant!

I find it funny that most of you wouldn’t hesitate to take your car to a mechanic, pay a restaurant to help you with cooking meals, or...

Are your Over-giving?

May 10, 2022

We’ve all heard the old saying that it is better to give than receive. It does feel wonderful to give and help others, but how do we know when we’ve started to give too much?

One of the first things you may notice is feeling drained.

Giving is one thing, but chronic over-giving is another. If giving just doesn’t feel right, that’s your first clue to make some adjustments.

Anytime I find myself feeling tired for many days, and I can’t trace it back to a lack of sleep, I look at my interactions with others.

I reassess whether I’ve allowed myself to give in a way that feels right or if I’ve let myself get wrapped up into all their needs and wants.

Once I identify some patterns with people that are apparently draining me, I take action and change it asap!

It used to bother me so much to set boundaries with people or tell them no I can’t do this or that, you know to take care of my needs first. But, I realized quickly, if I...

Energetic Self Care

May 03, 2022

In this world, there’s so much focus on our physical health, what we eat and drink and how often we exercise. Attention and an absolute importance are placed on emotional health and spirituality.

But, I rarely see mention of energetic self-care.

Since everything is energy, you may be wondering what that means exactly. To me energetic self-care means, what we are hanging onto and carrying around, and what are we putting out into the world.

A real question to ask yourself is, what types of energies am I emitting? Also, what kinds of energies am I allowing in my world?

Start paying attention to the kind of conversations you’re in. Notice any themes, common topics you find yourself talking about and focusing on.

Also, the types of tv shows or movies you’re watching. Often people think oh it's just a silly tv show. It doesn't bother me. But, yes it can impact your mood and energy fields a lot!

Ever noticed after watching a scary or dramatic movie you feel rather...
