How do you feel when things are changing in your life?

Do you feel uncomfortable, worried, out of control?

Yes, I realize there are all sorts of changes we experience in our lives that are exciting and desired. But, often change can feel very unnerving to go through.

 

 

So what if you started to look at all the possibilities during these times of change, rather than focus on what could go wrong?

There’s an old quote that states, “Sometimes when things are falling apart they may be falling into place.”

Now I know that reading things like that can be annoying when you’re in the middle of a big life change and unsure how it will impact you.

But, take a moment and think back to other times when you were scared and thought maybe a life situation you were going through was the worst thing ever to happen. Then you realize it turned out better than you had ever imagined.

I Had No Idea!

Are you only capable of doing what others expect from you and nothing more? Right now I’m at a place in my life where I’m allowing myself to express different aspects of who I am.

Most people that know me, or who have spoken to me for a moment would likely say I’m already very expressive.

Yes, I am; however, there’s much more to me than meets the eye!

I’ll be the first one to say that although I’m very bold, it can be uncomfortable to step out and show people other sides of myself.

Others tend to know us in a certain way and whether they mean to or not, put us into a little box.

So when we show them other skills, talents, or interests, it can rattle and trigger people a bit.

Nothing wrong with that, just good to know that may happen.

It doesn't matter what you choose to do; people will have an opinion (I encourage you to assume they are excited for you) when you finally decide to share your dreams with the world.

We’ve all heard the saying keeping up with the Joneses, btw that was around long before the Kardashians LOL!

Looking around at your neighbors, schoolmates, colleagues, etc. to see what’s the “in” thing, has been around for ages.

Most of us are taught to compare, compete and strive to beat or be better than others somehow. Which truly only leaves us exhausted and looking at everyone as an enemy to our happiness.

 

The focus and comparison to others and what they have has caused much more grief than most people are consciously aware.

It can trigger deep feelings of inadequacy, anger, blame, all kinds of fear based emotions.

In essence, when we compare ourselves to others we are saying, there’s not enough for me, there’s a finite supply of love, health, money, happiness and I have to fight others to have a little sliver of that supply.

But, I can't do it!

I hear it all the time. I can’t do this or I just can’t do that.

Heck I've even said it to myself more times than I care to count.

We tell ourselves that certain things don’t matter, we will get to it tomorrow, but it often never gets completed.

A common theme under all of this is perfectionism, which is actually a pretty interesting sabotage pattern. There is no perfection, in comparison to what or whom?

So what a great way for you to at least be right and succeed at failing! You can say, see I told you I couldn’t do it and here’s the proof!

One thing I’ve noticed with individuals who choose to perpetually make excuses is that they seem to be quite annoyed or shocked when other people are actually doing things.

Years ago a friend of mine would constantly have an ongoing list of things she was going to do, but when it came time to take any sort of action she had a never-ending catalog of excuses as to why she couldn’t do it.

What matters more than anything else?

That’s right, your health!

Yes, making sure you are healthy is absolutely by far the most important thing.

If you're not feeling well, you cannot function properly, and that affects every single area of your life.

What I find interesting is that so many people will run themselves ragged, skipping meals, not moving their bodies, not sleeping enough and then they are baffled as to why things aren't going very smoothly in their lives.

When you honor yourself and your body by taking the time to eat balanced meals, get enough uninterrupted sleep and maybe even go for a walk, you will be astounded at how much easier everything in your life becomes.

Think about it, you can't enjoy your loved ones if you're in pain, or grouchy from sleep deprivation.

I say this a lot, but you really must put yourself first.

Energetic Self Care

In this world, there’s so much focus on our physical health, what we eat and drink and how often we exercise. Attention and an absolute importance are placed on emotional health and spirituality.

But, I rarely see mention of energetic self-care.

Since everything is energy, you may be wondering what that means exactly. To me energetic self-care means, what we are hanging onto and carrying around, and what are we putting out into the world.

A real question to ask yourself is, what types of energies am I emitting? Also, what kinds of energies am I allowing in my world?

Start paying attention to the kind of conversations you’re in. Notice any themes, common topics you find yourself talking about and focusing on.

Also, the types of tv shows or movies you’re watching. Often people think oh it's just a silly tv show. It doesn't bother me. But, yes it can impact your mood and energy fields a lot!

Feel your Feelings

Everything we want is because of the feeling we’ve associated with having a certain person or thing in our lives.

But we are so judgmental of the (not so great) feelings that we can become afraid of our feelings and do whatever it takes to avoid them.

I’m all for focusing on good feelings and catching yourself if you’re complaining, but there seems to be this tendency in the metaphysical, positive thought world to avoid anything that doesn’t feel “good.”

The problem with that is, just because you deny or ignore them, feelings do not just go away, especially if they are intense.

People try to squish them down, lie to themselves and avoid how they feel at all costs, but the energy is still active, and that is what is creating your life.

Ahh, the flowers and trees are in bloom. Everything looks so beautiful and lush, but you can’t breathe properly and your eyes are itching and watering!

For years I suffered from bad allergies.

Sneezing multiple times in a row, non stop blowing my nose, dizziness, and itchy gooey watery eyes. It was pretty miserable; I could hardly function, and I never thought it would go away.

I tried every pill, powder, drop and "potion" I could find. Some of the products helped a lot. I’ll list some of my favorites below. But when I took a deeper look at why I had the allergies, that's when the biggest relief came.

Personal Intuitive Guidance

With so much information available to help us with our intuition, it can be very confusing knowing which techniques will work best for us.

When I was a teen, I started looking for information to help me understand and use my intuitive abilities better. There were so many books available on the subject I had no idea where to start.

I was feeling excited to learn more about my abilities, but a bit awkward since it wasn't a topic discussed where I grew up.  

I picked up a few astrology books from the library and devoured them and found them to be very fun and entertaining!

Astrology seemed like an easy place to start my journey, so I stuck with that for a while. I did enjoy reading the personality traits of the different signs and finding similarities in the people I knew compared to the examples in the book.

Mostly, the books were pretty accurate, but I often felt that it boxed people into categories of how they must act and make assumptions about their abilities to...

Did you all hear about the terrible thing that happened to so and so? It's awful, the poor family.  What about the war in that country somewhere over there? And did you hear that my friend's mom who is diagnosed with a horrible life threatening disease And! My neighbor's cat just died yesterday?! 

After reading that paragraph notice do you feel slimed, yucky and hopeless? Perhaps you feel tension in your body.

Each day we are bombarded with information and ongoing conversations similar to those above. Even if we are doing our best to focus on happy thoughts, we can quickly find ourselves 30 minutes into an all out complaining and scary b*tch-fest. It accomplishes nothing but making you feel worse and confused, rather than actually adding anything helpful.
