When was the last time you cleaned up your home?

I don’t mean the daily stuff like washing dishes, making beds or putting away groceries.

I mean getting rid of things you no longer use or need.

This can be quite a large task, depending upon how big your space is and how much you like to hold onto things.

But, clearing up your space is one of the most powerful steps you can take to change your life. And there are ways to do it so you don’t drive yourself nuts and decide to give everything away!

What sort of images does the word solitude bring up for you?

Maybe dark, sad, lonely.

Or perhaps it was more peaceful, content and something you’re craving more of.

Although solitude can be seen as isolation and misconstrued as a bad or unwanted thing.

People have been seeking out solitude since ancient times.

Have you ever wondered why?

And have you ever thought of why you may actually avoid it?

Let’s start with why we might avoid solitude.

The number one habit that I see people choosing over the years is running away from themselves.

You're not going to allow yourself to have much quiet or solitude when you're trying to run away from yourself.

So why exactly would you want to run away from yourself?

Often because you’re trying to avoid something.

It could be feelings, your awareness of other people's feelings and you may even be aware of other things beyond words.

But there are many amazing benefits of regularly taking some time to be with yourself.

Suffering or Joy

In the current hustle culture, it is easy to get swept up in trying to prove how hard you’ve worked by suffering and sacrifice.

As if it’s wrong to create from more ease.

This idea of sacrificing one thing to get another is very ingrained into society and you may feel wrong or bad not living that way when you see many friends and family pushing, proving, and struggling. 

Perhaps you have the very common fear of not wanting to stand out.

You may think if you're happier and have more ease people will notice and resent you for it.

Perhaps people were envious, spiteful, or jealous in the past.

If so, those experiences likely caused you to expect more of the same.

You likely started to shrink and hide as a protective mechanism. Or you became overly defensive knowing that people were going to have an attitude towards you at some point so you better toughen up!

But, keep in mind those things happened to an old version of you.

The Power of Your Intuition

The word intuition is thrown around a lot these days, but what is intuition?

One of the definitions on dictionary.com com says intuition is; The quality or ability of having such direct perception or quick insight.

Although there are many definitions and perspectives on what intuition is, let's focus on it being a quick insight.

I personally have noticed how extremely quick and subtle most intuitive information can be.

I think this is one main reason that people miss the insights or don’t trust them.

They are expecting the sky to open up and a personalized letter with the answer to float down into their laps.

That would be amazing, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen anytime soon LOL!

Get Grounded!

In the wellness and spiritual circles it is very common to hear people telling each other to get grounded. But what exactly does that mean?

I’m sure people will have lots of opinions about the meaning but I will just speak from my knowing and you can use this info however you like ;-) 

To me, grounded means to allow your physical body and energy bodies to be fully connected to the energy of the planet.

I ground myself and all my clients in each session by visualizing etc. But, walking barefoot in the grass or sand is an easy super powerful way to stay grounded and balanced!

It may be too cold outside to do this or you might be afraid of stepping in your neighbors pet droppings :-D In that case you can purchase grounding mats, also called earthing mats. I’ve heard lots of great feedback about the mats.

You can try one out but I’d still suggest allowing your bare feet to make contact on the ground as much as possible.

When was the last time you had fun while working?

Whether you own your own business or work for someone else; fun is something that is way too often missing.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Let’s talk about some ways you can add fun to your work, even if that currently sounds crazy and impossible.

 

The first thing is to realize that so many people have been complaining about work for so long, it's almost expected that we join in too.

Growing up, I'd hear neighbors chatting it up about how they hated their jobs. Boss was a jerk, pay was awful, and it was just something that everyone had to do, a part of life.

Every job I ever had, people were complaining and often completely baffled when I wasn’t adding to their conversations. Sometimes it ticked people off! They wanted to know what I was so happy about and how dare I find something about our miserable employer to appreciate.
