Last year I made the choice to slow down.

I cut back on work and made healing from trauma and regulating my nervous system top priority.

A few years ago I had a bizarre, very painful physical accident that caused me to see many things in a whole new light.

I had prided myself on always being strong.

Having lots of love, kindness, and support to give.

Even as my body was in so much pain and my nervous system was on high alert constantly. I kept working long hours and pushing myself to do more.

Last year I just couldn’t keep pushing anymore.

More accurately, I didn’t want to, so I didn’t. I felt every fiber of my being going into complete refusal to continue on as I had been.

You know how you get so used to being a certain way that you don’t even notice, until you can’t keep going? 

I hit that wall.

And could finally see how I had been operating and was prolonging my healing from this physical ailment. 

It was a huge awareness of how I had unknowingly put everyone else...

Dissociation - Hijacking the Mind

Do you find yourself spacing out, in a fog or missing chunks of time?

If so, you may be experiencing dissociation.

Which is a normal thing for our minds to do, as we don’t need to be super focused all day and night.

However, finding yourself chronically numbing out and unable to focus may be indicative of deeper things going on.

Everyone goes through trauma, and everyone copes with it differently.

Our mind and body are so wise that they will cope in the best ways for us in any given moment.

These survival mechanisms are always there to keep us safe.

But, if left unresolved can cause a lot of difficulties functioning and thriving in daily life

Shocking, painful or distressing events can set off dissociation, amongst many other symptoms.

But, long after the event you may still not feel safe even to address the experience. So what can you do?

There are many paths to healing, but you will need to find ways to get your nervous system balanced.

Energy of Trauma

Have you ever gone through something that changes how you see yourself and the world?

It could change your outlook in a good way, but what about those times you question everything you thought was true?

You used to feel inspired, hopeful, and optimistic.

Then one day, sometimes in an instant, you wonder what’s the point of it all? And think that it's all a crock of sh*t!

It is often called an Existential Crisis, but I want to address the way I see it energetically.

What’s really going on during these times of seeming disconnection?

I’ve noticed that disappointment is one of the most common precursors to this limbo state.

It could be you’ve experienced repeated little disappointments over time, or a sudden big and shocking let down that instantly leaves you in disbelief.

When I look at someone experiencing the symptoms I described above, there’s almost always a shade of bluish gray energy that seems to not be moving. This is depicting frozen moments in time.
