Do You Value Your Creations?

When creating do you wonder if other people will like it?

Sure you do!

Of course you want people to like your post, video, or even a nice meal you’ve made.

But, have you noticed how stressful that can be to always try to do everything to please others?

What if you started creating things from the vantage point of what lights you up?!

What exactly do I mean by that?

Create things that are interesting and inspiring to you.

When you do it that way you will find it much easier to create and others will be magnetized to your excitement.

Too many people are focused and pushing the method of trying to figure out what everyone else wants.

But there’s no way really to know what others want all the time.

And where are you in the equation?

Do you really want to sit around making content, or anything that isn’t firstly pleasing to you?

I certainly don’t!

Also, others can sense when you aren’t really into something and it is generally a repellent.

I’m not saying you need to be enthralled with everything you do, but do your best to be curious about how you can value your needs with everything you do and share with others.

Your time, energy, and creative expressions deserve to be treasured and respected.

And you must be the one to respect your own uniqueness if you expect anyone else to show you that in return.

Taking a moment to be present before you do things to set the tone for the creative process is actually quite magical.

I’m sure you will notice that even mundane things have a bit more meaning than you ever thought was possible.

You know how you feel the difference between a delicious meal made with love and warmth, as opposed to a good meal that just doesn’t have quite the same pizazz to it.

Here are a few tips to help you get into the space I’m describing.

  1. Create what you wish existed- This is a big one! Stay open minded and ask yourself what did you really need but never saw available anywhere? Can you create that on your own? Perhaps you can invent something. Or, it could be as simple as showing up in your life in a more warm inviting way after experiencing lackluster customer service.
  2. Be bold- What did you need to hear when you were going through a tough time or even an amazing time in your life? Share that with someone else now. I guarantee you others need to hear that message too. Not some overly curated “flawless” version of you. Stop stifling your voice and speak your truth!
  3. Be Grateful for Yourself- Take a moment to really give yourself credit for how amazing you are! Too often we think if something is easy for us that it isn’t valuable. What if it's not easy, but you make it look that way? You are a gift to this world. Look back over some of the things you’ve done and acknowledge how special it all is. This will help you get better at receiving from yourself and others.

And a final note.

If you felt touched or inspired by something another has said or created, let them know!

Don’t be shy and assume they already know or they have tons of followers they don’t need you to give them a compliment.

It is such an amazing feeling to know when you have made a difference in someone's life!

I am grateful for you in my world.

Have a beautiful week and stay creative!
