What Seeds Are You Sowing In Life?

I struggled for years with negative thoughts.

There were times I felt like my own mind was attacking me in a nonstop barrage of terrible thoughts.

Nothing in particular was happening to even justify the thoughts, most of the time, but they just kept coming.

It took years for me to realize that I am super aware and that many thoughts were other people’s and most importantly potential realities and timelines I was aware of.

I remember at one point I would go for daily walks around the block and it took almost all my focus to keep flipping each negative thought.

If I let my mind wander for a second there was another shit thought.

Obviously I didn’t enjoy my walks very much because at the time I believed I had to address and change every unwanted thought I had!

Have you tried that method too?!

It was insane, and thankfully I realized pretty quickly that I don’t have to spend my entire life analyzing, chopping, and reconfiguring each thought I’m aware of.

Fear and Survival - How You Are Wired

Do you ever wonder why you focus on the “bad stuff” so much?

That sometimes no matter how positive you try to be you find yourself bombarded with scary worrisome thoughts. And it all seems so valid and logical to keep hyperfocusing on the terrible things. It’s because, as a survival mechanism we are wired to focus on negative stimuli. 

As a kid I would daydream about any and all scenarios that I might find myself in, especially scary situations.

It was an attempt to keep myself safe.

I thought if I could figure out every possible thing that could happen in life and how I would respond, then maybe I could finally relax.

I was very aware of energy, others moods, and could see spirits from a very young age. All of the things that I see as beautiful skills and gifts now, were very overwhelming then. 

Also, if you are stressed out the tendency to have negative thoughts increases as higher cortisol levels contribute to scary and intrusive thoughts.
