What should you care about?

Do you ever wonder what to care about?

I love to say I don’t give a f*ck!

Jokingly and not so jokingly….

And zero f*cks given is a great idea but I actually want to care about things.

Don’t you?

Not caring or acting like you don’t care can be a protective mechanism.

Which is fine and understandable.

Maybe you’re worried that if you care too much you can be hurt or disappointed.

Perhaps you have past examples where you had your hopes up and suddenly it all went side-ways. So it’s just easier and safer to play it cool and detached.

But that’s no way to really live. Giving no F’s and being defensive.

We are meant to feel inspired and excited about things. And continuing to have your guard up and give attention to the “wrong things” will only bring you more of the same.

There’s a huge misconception that I see a lot of people subscribing to, mostly without ever questioning it.

The idea that you must tolerate and give tons of focus/attention to things you don’t like and feel bad.

That somehow if you just twirl and stew in these crappy things that happened you will be hit with an epiphany of how to change it and feel better. 

Nope, it doesn’t work that way. You will only create more of the same :problems, sadness, anger, confusion …..

Now that you know spinning in the “unwanted” is NOT the key to a happier life; what is?

Get clear on what you currently care about and decide if you want more of that.

If yes, keep making it a priority in your life.

If it’s not something you want to continue showing up in your reality.. STOP giving it attention.

Decide what you want instead and start focusing on that. 

It really is that simple. It just takes practice and discipline. And if you really want something you’ll put in the time and energy for it, no excuses!

You get to decide what to care about in your life, that’s part of the fun.

But, I’ll share with you a few things I care about and some things I don’t give any hoots about LOL!

What TO Care About:

  • Your Thoughts- What you saturate your mind with will create your reality. Be selective about what you think and talk about.
  • Your Health-  Get enough nutritious food, water, rest and exercise. It’s much easier to focus your thoughts when you feel good.
  • Healthy Relationships-  The relationship w/ yourself is always #1. Then surround yourself with people who love, inspire, and bring out the best in you. 

What NOT to Care About:

Limitations- If you want something then you’ve got to stop thinking about not having it. Limited thinking is NOT realistic thinking. 

Distractions- Recognize them and quickly shift your precious energy and focus back to things that contribute to your life, rather than, drain from you.

What Others Think of You-  It really only matters what you think about yourself. When you think kind and positive thoughts about you, others will reflect that back. 

To recap: What are you caring about now that is creating yucky experiences?

Decide what you’d like to focus on instead.

Keep practicing the NEW story of having what you desire.
