Being in a crappy thought loop is never fun.
It can feel like you’re being attacked by your own thoughts.
You suddenly can’t stop thinking these terrible thoughts, and the more you push against them the worse they get.
So why does this happen?
The old saying “what you resist persists” comes to mind.
You have decided, perhaps in an instant, that whatever you were thinking is bad and you need to banish it quickly!
Judgment is at the root of probably all suffering.
You’ve been triggered and now you find yourself judging your thoughts as negative, bad, and scary.
Truth is, nothing has any meaning except what you assign it to mean.
So, if you have decided it is a bad, wrong, terrible thought, you’ve set yourself up for a battle.
If you drop the judgment and start to identify certain thoughts as simply unwanted, you’ll release them so much faster.
Some people teach that you must be positive all the time and think super happy thoughts or you’ll create negative experiences.
This is NOT true!
Unless you really believe it is.
Unfortunately that belief can cause you to fear your own thoughts, often putting you into an anxious spin.
Worrying if that scary thought you had was focused on too long and now it's gonna happen!
What a terrible way to live.
Many years ago I somewhat believed I had to be positive all the time.
But, it’s kinda like smiling while being punched in the face.
There’s a time to be happy, and a time to feel sad, angry etc.
No emotions, feelings or thoughts are bad.
Being afraid of my own thoughts always felt weird and ridiculous to me.
Another important thing to mention is you are WAY more aware than you might realize.
We are in a soup of consciousness and possibilities. And you are very much aware of thought forms, current, past, and multi dimensional.
Many thoughts that you have in your head do not necessarily originate from you.
You are often picking up old energies, others thoughts and fears and even parallel reality possibilities.
“You stop fearing the Created when you know that You are the Creator.”
Another factor is collective thoughts.
There is a term Egregore. Which is a thought form created intentionally or unintentionally from a group of people.
Those thoughts can be focused towards joy, peace, happiness. Or towards, fear, pain, suffering etc.
This may sound big or scary. But, remember you are the powerful creator of your reality. If you don't like what your current reality is showing you, simply change your focus.
Everyone experiences scary or unwanted thoughts.
But here are a few things I like to do when I am aware of unwanted thoughts.
Consciousness is all around and you get to choose what you want to think and focus on.
